Live at the Venue ’81

KOKOMO – LIVE at the VENUE '81 by KOKOMOThis album was resurrected and cleaned up, essentially for the friends & fans of Kokomo, to coincide with a handful of dates the band played at the end of August, 2014.

The quality of the recording cannot possibly compare with today's modern cleanliness, but the spirit of the band certainly shines through, especially that of the late, great Alan Spenner on bass, who passed away in 1991.

Alan was a natural, a rough diamond, a funkateer, a great wit, a soul brother and of course, a wonderful musician, who just knew where to place those important notes. So, this album is also a tribute to Spen's memory.

Despite the hiss of the tape, the drop-outs, the erratic balance and the cock-ups, the surviving members of the band truly hope you enjoy the groove on this old recording.

About Kokomo

British soul pioneers, Kokomo, built their reputation and loyal following with awesome live shows. A series of packed reunion gigs since 2014 proved that the band is grooving as well as ever.
